Experience

Dr. Pan is an Assistant Research Fellow of the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS) and an Adjunct Teaching Faculty of the Institute of Education at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan. She has a specific interest in the best practices in ethics education, publication ethics in the digital era, and the challenges of supporting research integrity in the face of publication pressures (e.g., the ethics of authorship), particularly from an East Asian perspective. 

Dr. Pan works with incredible scholars and staff in the Taiwanese local universities, research institutions, and government units; she has broad responsibility for designing and implementing nationwide RCR (responsible conduct of research) training programs and doing educational research. For example, Dr. Pan is working closely and collaboratively with the nation-wide research integrity educational program, Center for Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education (AREE), Ministry of Education, since the national center was formally established in 2014. Besides, she is a content contributor to the Research Integrity Newsletter by the Office of Research Integrity, Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan, and the Academic Integrity Newsletter by the Ministry of Education. She also serves for the board of directors of the non-profit organization, Taiwan Association for Academic Ethics Education (TAAEE).

Dr. Pan completed her Ph.D. in Education (eLearning) at National Chiao Tung University, where she focused on developing and evaluating academic and research integrity education. She also received predoctoral and postdoctoral training at the Research Ethics Program, University of California San Diego and the Bioethics Research Center, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Dr. Pan’s research and experience about RCR education have been published and shared at Ethics & Behavior, Science and Engineering Ethics, World Conference on Research Integrity, Asia Pacific Research Integrity Network Meeting, etc.
