The Institute of Communications Engineering, NCTU is the first academic unit focusing on communications engineering among universities in Taiwan. The primary goal of ICE is to develop advanced communications technologies and cultivate high-end industrial leaders. Advanced communications technologies are essential for human being, since they could enhance the connections within a society and increase the efficiency of production and distribution. The scope of communications engineering includes communication systems, telecommunication networks, multimedia signal processing, and radar/RF circuits. The professors of ICE, NCTU play leading roles in Taiwan, since they are the principle investigators of many key MOST research projects including 5G/B5G projects and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects. We are also very active in research centers supported by MOE. In this semester, about one-third of our courses are based on English lectures.
